(Ken & Rach told us how to play this game.)
It's played in teams. Usually 2 or 4 players.
Two players sit across from each other as they play this game, and they are each other's team mates.
Before game play begins, they must come up with some sort of signal to let each other know that they've come up with 4 of a kind in their hand - without the other team catching on to what the signal was and catching them before they go out.
I know - I confused you. Let me give you an example.
Team A's signal is rubbing their nose when one of them has 4 of a kind. Team B's signal is scratching their left elbows. Player 1 on Team A gets a 4 of a kind, and rubs their nose, player 2 on Team A can notice that signal and call "Square" which signals that their team has 4 of a kind. If player 1 or 2 on Team B sees the signal or thinks Team A has a 4 of a kind, either player 1 or 2 on Team B can call "Cut" and end the session.
If Team A called "Square" and they Did have a 4 of a kind - they win the round. If they didn't have a 4 of a kind - they lose the round.
If Team B called "Cut" and team A Did have a 4 of a kind - Team B wins the round. If Team A Did Not have a 4 of a kind - Team B loses for calling "Cut" when Team A did Not have a 4 of a kind.
Typical game: 4 cards are dealt to each player. 4 cards are dealt face up to the middle of the table. All 4 players begin frantically exchanging cards - first throwing a card down, then picking up the card they want from the table. The signals are flying - fake or real. Players are suspicious of each other, eyeballs are constantly moving from player to player - watching their own player for their signal, or the other team to try and pick up their signals. When no one wants anything from the 4 remaining cards on the table, they're swept away and 4 fresh cards are dealt - and the chaos continues. This continues until "Square" or "Cut" is called out - at which time the round is over and a team winner is determined.
Best 3 of 5 wins.
