Soon-To-Be Bailey-Barn
This is the story of Bailey. Bailey went through a very rough storm - baseball sized hail and bigger! Lightning was striking very close, and during all the raucus Bailey bolted headlong into a fence pole. Bailey then had 30 or so stitches down his forehead and arcing down under his left eye. After Bailey got home he bumped himself into the trailer, and a little after that he could barely walk. Now bailey is up and walking, can run, and walk, but sometimes still has a wobble to his back legs. This has all gotten better over time. Bailey's human-parents can't take him to the horse-auction now because he wouldn't go for much - and would probably be bought for being put into glue, or food. Soooo - Bailey's Very Very Kind human-parents are giving him to me! PapaBear told me about Bailey this past Saturday, and we were able to go see him that very Sunday (2 hour + drive). Bailey's human-parents are willing to bring him all the way to our house, and this is where he'll stay! I'm so excited! Bailey was born April 25th, 2004, and is currently a little over a year old! He's a pure-bread Registered Quarter Horse with papers and everything - but because of the accident he'll never be show quality. I think he'll fit right in our family due to his little quirks caused by the accident. We'll love him so much! Here are some pics. Careful - they may take a while to load.
Do you see his blue eye? His right eye is blue, and the other is brown. He was born that way. 8)
This is a closeup of Bailey's blue eye - it looks so spooky! You can also see the scar moving down the white part of his nose and trailing off to below his left eye.
Here's Bailey and me. He's so cute! He's a lil scruffy 'cause he hasn't shed all his winter coat yet.
And another pic of Bailey!
Thanks for stopping by! You're sure to see more pics of Bailey and I very soon!

The vet came by and said it's time to have Bailey gelded. He also said that his neurological problems would only get worse, not better, and to not expect much of Bailey. He said I might come to find Bailey not able to get up and need to put him to sleep one of these days in the not-too-distant future. So I'm reallllly sad.
PapaBear got him a halter that was waaaay too big - so we played dress-up!
